Body transportation from abroad

Our company ensures the repatriation of the deceased to Hungary, in accordance with international regulations, in a special coffin. We handle the necessary permits, official and consular administration, and the coordination of funeral or cremation procedures at home and abroad.  In the event of a death overseas, we fully organize air transport, and if required, we also accept airport reception in Hungary. Through our extensive network of partners throughout Europe, we help optimize costs and ensure maximum respect for funeral considerations.

The process of the service

Our company provides full administration for the acquisition of various permits and documents required both domestically and abroad for the international transport of the deceased.

In the event of a death abroad, a transport permit from the local competent medical officer must always be obtained. In addition, it is necessary to obtain a death certificate at the place of death or at least report the death, which the authorities will provide a certificate of.

In several countries, it is a requirement that the local medical examiner's office will only issue a permit for the transport of a deceased person if the body of the deceased has been prepared for international transport through an embalming process. The medical examiner's office will request a certificate of this service.

In Hungary, it is necessary to obtain a so-called acceptance declaration, which is issued by the cemetery chosen as the burial site. This means that the cemetery will ensure the placement of the remains of the deceased and will accept the body.

Our company handles the complete process of obtaining the necessary permits and documents required for the transportation, both domestically and internationally, on your behalf.

In the event of a death abroad, a transport permit from the local competent medical officer must always be obtained, and in the event of a death resulting from a traffic accident, a permit from the police or prosecutor's office is also indispensable.

In addition, it is necessary to obtain a death certificate at the place of death or at least report the death, which the authorities will provide a certificate of.

The process of the service

Road transport of dead bodies

According to Section 35 (3) of Act XLIII of 1999, road transport of dead bodies can be carried out at a minimum temperature of + 18 ̊ C for transports longer than 90 minutes. Our company uses Mercedes-Benz Vito type hearse vehicles, which have been converted into a licensed hearse and have a cargo area cooled to + 4 ̊ C, for all transports of dead bodies. In this way, we fully comply with legal and moral requirements, as well as the expectations of our customers.

Necessary documents

If all the necessary documents have been obtained, the Hungarian Consular Service operating in the given country is competent to issue the international funeral transport permit. This permit is issued in the name of the funeral company that will actually transport the body to Hungary. This Consular permit is also the Hungarian funeral permit. Its existence is essential for the legal performance of funeral services.
